Russian military forces launched a missile strike on Odesa when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis were visiting the city.
This was reported by the Greek edition of Protothema.
According to Greek journalists, the missile was aimed at the Ukrainian leader’s convoy, which was only 150 meters from the location of the Greek delegation led by Mitsotakis.
No members of the Greek delegation were reportedly injured.
It is noted that Zelensky’s meeting with Mitsotakis took place as usual and lasted about half an hour.
The Greek prime minister emphasized that his country would continue to support Ukraine within its capabilities. He also emphasized that Greece supports Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic path.
Shelling of Odesa: Zelensky’s reaction
The publication notes that Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Greek prime minister visited the ruins of the house where a Russian “shahed” hit last Saturday, killing 12 Ukrainians. The leaders of both countries laid flowers in memory of the victims of the Russian terrorist attack.
It is reported that Mitsotakis arrived in Ukraine early this morning under conditions of strict secrecy. He planned to stay in the city for a few hours before continuing to Bucharest for the EPP summit. He first met with Zelenskyy at the Odesa seaport.
Later, a siren sounded, and a loud explosion occurred in the city. According to Ukrainian media reports, terrorists fired an Iskander ballistic missile or its North Korean equivalent at Odesa. However, there have been no official reports so far.
Later, speaking at a briefing, Zelenskyy gave details of the attack and said that there were dead and wounded as a result of the missile strike.
