The leader of Ukraine emphasized that defense is a difficult task and a challenge in a conflict with an enemy such as Russia.
Speaking about the counteroffensive in 2023 and the fact that it was not as effective as planned, Zelensky said that first of all, we need to think about the lives of our defenders because if soldiers die, Ukraine will lose everything.
Zelenskyy is convinced that defense is the number one task at the moment. He announced new successful actions of the Defense Forces in the Black Sea. Without disclosing details, the president promised surprises for the Russian Federation. “This is very important,” the head of state intrigued.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the South and defense in the East, where, according to the Ukrainian military, the Russians have concentrated about 200,000 occupants.
Without going into details, the President announced a new Ukrainian counteroffensive and new operations. However, he emphasized that this would depend on many factors.
Answering the question of whether the counteroffensive could have been more effective if Ukraine had received weapons in a timely manner, Zelenskyy called for not living in the past but focusing on the present. He noted that Ukraine needs Patriot air defense systems, long-range weapons, etc.
